Waikato TKD Grassroots Hamilton 2026

What an absolutely amazing day we had in Hamilton at our I TKD Grassroots Tournament, proudly hosted by Waikato Taekwondo!

The atmosphere was incredible from start to finish – so much support for the athletes, and fantastic backing for the host club. The positive feedback we received about what I TKD is doing for our communities was truly overwhelming and means so much to us.

A huge shoutout to Waikato Taekwondo as first-time hosts – you did an outstanding job. You really looked after the I TKD crew, and that awesome lunch pack did not go unnoticed

We’re also excited to share that Waikato Taekwondo were so happy with the day, they’ve already asked to host another event in 2027

It was so great to see the level of sportsmanship on display across the day. There is some amazing talent out there, and this is exactly where it all begins – giving athletes the opportunity to step onto the mat (for some, their very first time) and show such courage in a safe, supportive environment with no pressure.

Personally, I would like to say a big thank you to Benson and the Waikato Taekwondo club for your incredible hospitality and support – we truly appreciate it.

A special mention and big thank you to the Budo South team – you stepped in and helped wherever you saw it was needed, without even being asked. That kind of support doesn’t go unnoticed and means a lot

To all the clubs who attended and supported the event – thank you for helping make the day such a success. The feedback I received yesterday was incredible, and it’s what makes all the travel and effort we put into these weekends so worthwhile (and enjoyable!).

Seeing the smiles on the faces of athletes, parents, and coaches – and the pure joy of receiving their medals – is what it’s all about
