What an amazing start to our 2026 I

TKD Grassroots Tournament Series!

Our first tournament of the year was held in Waitoki, Auckland, with our fantastic host club Elite Taekwondo. As always, the Elite team looked after everyone so well, and we are incredibly grateful for their support in making today a great day.

It was awesome to see such a strong turnout, with many clubs returning and also lots of new faces joining us for the first time. That’s what grassroots events are all about – growing our community and giving athletes opportunities to learn and develop

The sportsmanship on display was fantastic. These events are not just about the athletes stepping onto the mat to compete, but also about learning all aspects of the sport. From corner judging to supporting teammates, development happens for everyone involved – and that’s what makes these tournaments so special.

A huge thank you to all the clubs that attended, and to the parents, instructors, and coaches who continue to support these events and the athletes.

Thank you Master Matt Ransom for being the bus conductor today, your help made the event run smooth and getting competitors on time for matches

And of course, a big thank you to my awesome crew today – Aaron, Connor, Brooklyn, and Evita – for helping make the day such a fun and successful event.
